Auburn suffered a 42-10 blowout at the hands of Georgia its last time out in the latest chapter of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. To their credit, the Tigers only trailed 14-0 at halftime, but the Bulldogs tacked on a touchdown in the 3rd quarter and put things out of reach with 21 points in the 4th.

Robby Ashford was 13-of-38 passing for 165 yards and a touchdown. That said, he did showcase his dual-threat tendencies, taking 9 carries for 52 yards. While the Oregon transfer’s stats didn’t really jump off the page, Bryan Harsin thought his quarterback handled himself as well as he could, considering playing in a hostile environment between the hedges of Sanford Stadium.

“I thought [his] poise was good…I thought he operated pretty well. I thought, overall, he made some good decisions,” Harsin said during his “Tiger Talk” radio appearance on Thursday.

Ashford and the Tigers are back on the road on Saturday and will face an unbeaten team for the 2nd week in a row, this time playing Ole Miss. While the Tigers have won the last 6 meetings between the 2 SEC West programs, the Rebels are heavily favored to run their record to 7-0 in front of their home crowd.
