Bryce Young injury: Nick Saban discusses approach Alabama is taking with QB in practice

Bryce Young was sidelined for No. 3 Alabama’s victory over Texas A&M its last time out. Although the defending Heisman Trophy winner wanted to get out on the field toward the end of the game, it was a no-go as he continues to recover from a sprained shoulder he suffered on Oct. 1 against Arkansas.
The Crimson Tide certainly could have used him against the Aggies: although they ended up winning, the final score was much closer than predicted. They’ll hope that he’ll be available for Saturday’s massive showdown in Knoxville vs. No. 6 Tennessee.
For now, though, it’s wait-and-see for Nick Saban and his quarterback, who is practicing but naturally is seeing his workload being limited in the meantime.
“Bryce continues to practice a little bit more. We’ve got him on a little bit of a pitch count. …We expect him to do a little more [on Thursday],” Saban said during his weekly press conference on Wednesday.
Earlier on Wednesday, during the SEC coaches’ teleconference, Saban played his cards very close to the vest regarding the status of Young. While he was a little more open with the Tuscaloosa-area media later in the day, fans will be forced to continue to wait and hope that the star signal-caller gets the green light against the Volunteers.
