Calvin Ridley was suspended indefinitely (but for at least a year) by the NFL on Monday for gambling on games.

The incident occurred back in November of 2021, when Ridley was away from the Atlanta Falcons’ team facilities for a few days.

But, after news of the suspension broke, Ridley took to Twitter to explain himself. He said he only bet $1,500 on games and added that he doesn’t have a gambling problem. That was part of a string of tweets he sent Monday evening:

Ridley probably isn’t doing himself any favors with these tweets, but we’ll see if the league decides to reinstate him on Feb. 15, 2023, when he’s eligible.

This is a big loss for the Falcons entering the 2022 season, as they now can’t trade him and won’t have him on the field this fall.
