When the Auburn Tigers square off against LSU on Saturday afternoon, slowing down QB Joe Burrow and the Tigers’ passing attack will be crucial.

Auburn hasn’t won in Baton Rouge since 1999, and if that’s going to change today, some key Auburn defenders are going to have to step up.

On Saturday morning’s SportsCenter, analyst Tim Tebow said the Auburn safeties are going to have their hands full:

“The offense isn’t somewhat ridiculous,” Tebow said on SportsCenter. “It’s absolutely ridiculous. The receiving corps, Joe Burrow and everything they’re doing. No one has come close to stopping what they’re doing. And, oh, by the way, they get back one of their best receivers in Terrace Marshall. So, who needs to step up for Auburn? It’s their two safeties who are going to get caught in man-coverage and their nickel back who they call their star. That will be imperative. They played well against Florida, but they gave up two big plays that went for touchdowns.

“When you play man-coverage and you miss tackles, that doesn’t go for 20 or 25 yards; it goes for 70 or 80. That’s what cannot happen. So, those guys have to be huge in this game.”

Auburn has played LSU close recently, but hasn’t managed to win. Will that change on Saturday afternoon?
