Notre Dame’s Braden Lenzy made a strong case for the catch of the 2022 season on Saturday against Navy.

The Fighting Irish are in Annapolis for their annual meeting against the Midshipmen and are looking for their 5th straight win in the series. They held a 7-0 lead with about four-and-a-half minutes to play in the 1st quarter.

That’s when Lenzy made the impossible happen. On a pass from quarterback Drew Pyne, the graduate wide receiver somehow reached around the back of a Navy defender and came up with the catch in the end zone.

You have to see this one for yourself:

That was only Lenzy’s 2nd touchdown catch of the season and the 8th of his career. They won’t come much better than that one, though.

Notre Dame went on to make the point after to take a 14-0 lead over Navy before the Midshipmen pulled within 14-6. Marcus Freeman’s team has won its last 3 games after a 3-3 start to the season.
