CBS analyst calls out Georgia’s offensive line for performance in Auburn game

CBS analyst Randy Cross watched the Georgia Bulldogs complete the second-half comeback against the Auburn Tigers to move to 5-1 with a 20-10 victory. Auburn dominated the game for much of the first half, as the Tigers were about to potentially go up 17-0 at the half before a controversial fumble changed the game.
While it was big for the Bulldogs to get the win, Cross was not impressed with the play of the offensive line.
“I was very very surprised the way that offensive line for Georgia played,” Cross said. “You got a lot of pressure on the quarterback. Didn’t rush the ball extremely well, only 79 yards of rushing. Gunner Stockton was getting harassed. I think Ole Miss has a good enough defense to repeat that, and I think Ole Miss is going to go into Athens and they’re going to beat them.”
The Bulldogs are known during the Kirby Smart era of being the type of team that will dominate the line of scrimmage. However, that hasn’t always been the case this season. In the win against Auburn, the Bulldogs rushed it 31 times for 79 yards. Stockton led the team in rushing yards with 26.
As Cross stated, Ole Miss does possess a very good defense. The Rebels have given up more than 24 points only one time this season. In the 28-10 Ole Miss win last season, the Rebels had five sacks and forced three turnovers. If they are able to dominate the line of scrimmage like that on Saturday, then Cross has a very good chance of being correct with his pick.
