CBS Sports announced its SEC Coordinators of the Week for Week 6 of the college football season, and we’re staying on the defensive side for this one.

Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack was one of the two SEC coordinators highlighted by CBS Sports this week. Wommack and the Tide held Diego Pavia and the Commodores to 14 points this weekend. Pavia was only able to total 198 yards passing, and the Commodores were 5-for-11 on 3rd down.

Wommack’s defense was also able to cause 2 turnovers: 1 forced fumble and 1 interception.

The other coordinator highlighted by CBS Sports was Florida defensive coordinator Ron Roberts.

Roberts and the Gators held the Longhorns to just 21 points this weekend as they picked up a massive victory. Robert’s defense forced two turnovers, both interceptions from Arch Manning, and held the opponent to 3-for-11 on 3rd down.

While Manning was still able to total 263 yards passing, the Gators’ defense shut down the run game for the Longhorns. Manning was Texas’s leading rusher with 15 carries for 37 yards. The Gators only allowed a total of 52 rushing yards on 26 attempts, an average of 2.0 yards per rush.

Defensive lineman Brien Taylor Jr. had 1.5 sacks against the Longhorns.
