CeCe Jefferson reportedly on track to return in time for fall camp at Florida

It turns out CeCe Jefferson’s rehab won’t take as long as originally reported.

Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun originally reported Jefferson’s status for Florida’s season opener against Charleston could be in jeopardy on Wednesday, however, it appears the school has cleared up any uncertainty on the matter.

The shoulder surgery the Gator defensive lineman underwent has already taken place and is expected to be rehabbed in time for him to make a return to the field for the start of fall camp in Gainesville — according to Florida.

In his three seasons in Gainesville, Jefferson has racked up 105 tackles, 28.5 tackles-for-loss and 9.5 sacks for the Gators. He will enter the 2018 campaign as arguably Florida’s best defender this season.
