Cedric Tillman has blossomed into a huge part of the Tennessee offense, but it wasn’t always that way, and the star wide receiver found something in common with quarterback Hendon Hooker.
They both had something to prove, and spent time together before and after practice to learn each other’s preferences. They also took part in a quarterback-receivers trip to start the summer.
“Our relationship is not just football, it’s a friendship and a brotherhood, too,” Tillman said on “Inside the SEC” on the SEC Network.
Confident in his own game, Tillman was asked by Roman Harper how he sizes up a cornerback in a given game, and he said, “One-on-one, I’m gonna take me every day of the week. I know Hendon will too. No matter how tall.”

In terms of the next step in the development of the offense, Tillman said the Vols need to continue to find big plays, be the best offense in the country, and eventually play in big games.
“We feel like if we execute and play Tennessee football, we feel like the sky’s the limit,” he said.
