The college football coaching carousel has continued picking up steam heading into the final weekend of the regular season, and there are still several SEC programs that are still searching for their next head coach.

Among the options still available on the coaching market, Tulane’s Jon Sumrall and USF’s Alex Golesh have been receiving a ton of buzz as potential fits around college football’s best conference, and ESPN insider Pete Thamel joined College GameDay to discuss the latest on both coaches.

“Jon Sumrall has had significant interest from Auburn, significant interest from Florida, and he could end up in Ole Miss/LSU mix depending on what Lane does,” Thamel said. “Sources told me last night and reiterated this morning that Sumrall is the clear favorite to become the next head coach at Florida, but Sumrall is not going to make a decision until tomorrow.”

Thamel also reported that both Auburn and Arkansas could end up intersecting on Golesh, with Ole Miss also potentially entering the mix should Kiffin decide to leave for LSU.

“The Auburn job and the Arkansas job could end up intersecting at Alex Golesh,” Thamel said. “…He has the offer from Arkansas, and there is interest from Auburn. Ole Miss is also expected to be interested if Lane Kiffin leaves.”
