Friday night’s instant field storming by Virginia fans after the Cavaliers’ 46-38 double-OT victory over No. 8 Florida State had the internet buzzing about the status of FSU wide receiver Squirrel White.

Fear no more, as Pete Nakos from On3Sports offered this bit of good news about the Seminoles player and the rest of his teammates.

That White and the rest of the Seminoles were able to make it to safety at Scott Stadium is remarkable – given that a great portion of the 50,107 fans in attendance were literally on top of them within an instant of Tommy Castellanos’ last-gasp pass fell into the hands of Virginia’s Ja’Son Prevard.

Virginia’s win was its first over a top-10 team since 2005, which was also against the Seminoles. Quarterback Chandler Morris accounted for 5 touchdowns, including a 4-yard keeper in the second OT before hitting Trell Harris for the 2-point conversion.

Virginia will undoubtedly be fined $50,000 by the ACC for a violation of the league’s first-offense penalty under its new event security policy. That works out to about $1 per fan who made it onto the playing surface, though, so one can imagine the Cavaliers will happily write a check to the conference.
