Arkansas looks to be a little short-handed heading into this weekend’s clash against No. 1 Alabama.

Razorbacks coach Chad Morris gave several injury updates during his meeting with reporters Wednesday, most notably saying running back Devwah Whaley is doubtful to play Saturday. The team’s leading rusher missed last week’s loss to Texas A&M with a concussion and has not yet cleared the necessary protocol to return to practice.

Another huge blow to Arkansas is the loss of senior tight end Jeremy Patton, who will miss an undetermined amount of time following ankle surgery, Morris confirmed. True freshman offensive lineman Noah Gatlin is dealing with an ankle injury, while positionmate Dylan Hays — the presumed starter at center — is leaving football and will placed on a medical scholarship.

Morris also briefly discussed sophomore cornerback Chevin Calloway, who this week announced he’s also stepping away from the sport. Calloway isn’t with the team, Morris said, and there is “nothing new to report” about his situation.

The Razorbacks coach dished on a few other injuries, and you can read 247Sports’ full report here.

Arkansas (1-4, 0-2 SEC) hosts Alabama (5-0, 2-0) at noon ET on Saturday.
