It doesn’t appear that Chevin Calloway will be making a return for the Razorbacks this season — if at all.

The sophomore defensive back from Dallas started the first two games of the season for Arkansas but has failed to make an appearance on the field since the Colorado State game. Leading up to the Auburn game, Chad Morris was asked about Calloway’s availability and would only say, “he’s not with us” when speaking of the Dallas native.

The Arkansas coach would not offer up any follow-up comment on the subject.

Calloway appeared in all 12 games for the Razorbacks last season and made a total of 17 tackles, had a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in his two years on the field for the team.

In a detailed Instagram post, Calloway insinuates that he’s dealing with a medical issue, noting his decision is “a lot bigger than football.” You can read his full statement, which was released Tuesday morning, below:

Calloway signed with Arkansas out of Dallas, where he played for Bishop Dunne High School. He was rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 18 cornerback in the nation and the No. 149 overall prospect in the 2017 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Calloway committed to Arkansas over Ole Miss, Iowa, Nebraska and Texas among others.
