Last year, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’s grandson, John Stephen Jones, led the Highland Park offense, putting up incredible numbers.

This year, Arkansas coach Chad Morris’s son, Chandler, is leading the Highland Park squad, and he’s putting up big numbers, too.

In fact, on Tuesday, Chandler was named the Dallas Morning News’s “Player of the First Half” for his efforts midway through the season:

He has Highland Park undefeated at 5-0 and his pace is just off of Jones’ astronomical marks from a year ago. Last year Jones averaged 306.9 passing yards, 3.8 touchdowns and 0.3 interceptions per game. Morris’ numbers this year: 276.6 passing yards, 3.2 touchdowns and 0.4 interceptions per game. If Morris can take Highland Park to another title, he’ll have a tremendous case to follow Jones as SportsDayHS Player of the Year.

Morris is a 3-star dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2020, with offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Oklahoma and others on the table, per 247Sports.

If he keeps playing like he has so far during his junior season, the offers should keep rolling in.
