Chase Daniel says Ty Simpson is the ‘most pro-ready’ QB in 2026 NFL Draft
Will Ty Simpson be an Arizona Cardinal? Will he be a first-round pick? As the 2026 NFL Draft creeps closer, Simpson’s future is one of the most talked-about storylines of the opening round.
The former Alabama quarterback checks boxes, but his experience is lacking. He only started 1 season with the Crimson Tide. And yet former Mizzou quarterback Chase Daniel thinks Simpson is still the most pro-ready passer in the entire class.
“He’s probably the most pro-ready, in terms of starting from Day 1, just because of the style of offense Alabama ran,” Daniel said on ESPN’s NFL Live on Friday. “Lots of personnel, lots of shifts, lots of motions, all these things. When you really look at him, physically, he’s got it. But he only started 15 games. I love what he brings to the table, and his football IQ is off the charts.”
Simpson ranked second among all SEC passers last season in yardage, throwing for 3,567 yards. He also ranked second in touchdown passes, with 28. He completed 64.5% of his throws with just 5 interceptions in 15 games.
He ended the season 21st in Total QBR.
The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft begins on April 23. Fans can trade on Simpson’s future on Kalshi ahead of the draft.
