Chaz Chambliss and the Georgia linebacker room saw its leader lost for the season due to a pec injury. Now, the Bulldogs will have to navigate the rest of the years without Nolan Smith.

That means it’s next man up, and one of the players that will be key to the Bulldogs’ defense in a pivotal game against Tennessee on Saturday will be Chaz Chambliss. The sophomore has primarily seen time in a reserve role but will now be set to see that playing time increase significantly in the absence of Smith.

Chambliss, meeting the media ahead of the game against the Vols, mentioned that it would take a full effort by the entire linebacker corps on Saturday, rather than it relying on a single player.

“Don’t let it drop off. Just prepare every day and just keep the standard that he would have kept when (Smith) was here,” he said. “Just because he’s out doesn’t mean that our defense is going to drop any.”
