Chris Fowler will have an expanded role at ESPN during a new multi-year agreement the network announced on Wednesday.

Fowler will take on a new NFL role along with continuing in his role as the lead play-by-play announcer for college football and Grand Slam tennis.

Fowler will team with Dan Orlovsky, Louis Riddick and Laura Rutledge on the NFL coverage of several games this season, starting with the Week 2 Monday Night Football game of Saints at Panthers.

In his existing roles, Fowler calls ABC Saturday Night Football and the College Football Playoff national championship, as well as Wimbledon, the US Open and more. Fowler has previously called NFL games for ESPN, first in 2020 and then again in 2021.

Terms of the new deal were not disclosed, but about 4 months ago, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that Fowler did not receive the big raise he looked for after he just completed a 10-year, $30 million deal. Fowler will stay on as ESPN’s No. 1 college football and tennis play-by-play voice, but with just a small increase.
