Classy move: Oregon staffer delivers pick-6 ball to Indiana DB D’Angelo Ponds

It’s safe to say that the Oregon Ducks would have preferred not to open Friday’s Peach Bowl matchup against the Indiana Hoosiers down 7-0. Unfortunately for Oregon, Indiana defensive back D’Angelo Ponds’ pick-six of Dante Moore proved to be a sign of things to come. Oregon was thoroughly outclassed, 56-22, in the game. Once the dust had settled, though, they handled their loss with grace almost immediately.

After the game, a Ducks staffer found Ponds and gave him the ball from his pick-six. Here’s a clip of the moment, via Tyler Brooke:

Oregon fans quikly chimed in on the matter in Brooke’s comments. They suggested the gifter was Kenny Farr, the Ducks’ Football Equipment Administrator.

An Oregon alum, Farr joined the Ducks’ staff in 2008. He worked as a student equipment manager when he was at school in Eugene. While those fans who mentioned his name were disappointed with the loss, they — and other Twitter/X users — were happy about Farr’s gesture.

With the 2025 campaign now in the rearview mirror, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning must begin replacing a large chunk of his staff. Both offensive coordinator Will Stein (Kentucky) and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi (California) are departing the team for head coaching opportunities.

They’re also taking multiple Ducks coaches with them. One man he knows he’ll have in his corner in 2026, though, is Farr. Oregon will open the 2026 season versus Boise State on Sept. 5.
