Cleveland Browns report details of Nick Chubb’s first surgery after knee injury

Nick Chubb suffered a devastating knee injury earlier this month, and the former Georgia star running back is out for the season. But the Cleveland Browns offered details of Chubb’s Friday surgery, and said he is on track to return in the 2024 season.
There was also further confirmation that this injury is different than the 2015 injury where he tore 3 separate ligaments in his leg against Tennessee.
The surgery “repaired damage to his medial capsule, meniscus, and medial collateral ligament. As expected, a second surgery will be scheduled to repair his anterior cruciate ligament in the coming months. Estimated recovery time from the surgeries indicate that Nick would be able to return to play at some point in the 2024 season.”
Chubb has remained a big part of the team since the injury. Coach Kevin Stefanski honored him with a game ball following the 27-3 win over the Titans, and personally delivered him the game ball on Sunday night. Teammates Myles Garrett wore Chubb’s name and No. 24 on tape on his wrist, and Kareem Hunt wore a Chubb jersey to the game on Sept. 24.
