Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a key part of LSU’s historic offense in 2019, as was QB Joe Burrow. In fact, Burrow threw for a record 60 touchdown passes in 2019.
Now that he’s in the NFL, Edwards-Helaire is playing alongside another historically great quarterback in Patrick Mahomes.
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the Super Bowl this Sunday, Edwards-Helaire discusses some of the similarities between Mahomes and Burrow, who went to the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Edwards-Helaire said they both are voracious when it comes to preparing and going through the playbook:
Clyde Edwards-Helaire on comparables between Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow: It's the way they prepare. Top level. You always see Pat on that iPad or flipping through the playbook. Joe was exactly the same way.#LSU

Edwards-Helaire was the No. 32 overall pick in the 2020 draft, going to the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs. Can he help them win a second title in a row?
We’ll find out on Sunday in Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
