Coaches Poll Week 2: SEC lands 10 teams in top 25 following epic Labor Day Weekend

College football coaches have reacted to an epic Week 1 of the 2025 season. The new USA TODAY Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, following the late conclusion of Week 1 thanks to Labor Day Weekend.
There’s a new No. 1 in the poll. Defending national champion Ohio State is back on top after knocking off previous No. 1 Texas. The Longhorns check in at No. 6 after the loss.
A total of 10 SEC teams made the Coaches Poll top 25. Georgia is the highest-ranked SEC squad, checking in at No. 3 after a lopsided season-opening win over Marshall. LSU is right behind at No. 4 fresh off a big win over Clemson.
Alabama falls all the way to No. 20, behind Florida State after losing to the Seminoles in Tallahassee. Here’s the full top 25:
