Cole Cubelic’s SEC takeaways are a Sunday staple on social media.
For the first time in 2023, Cubelic took to the site formerly known as Twitter to share his assessment of how the SEC teams looked in their weekend games. The Week 1 slate went well for all but 3 SEC teams.
Cubelic shared his takeaways just before kickoff of the LSU-FSU game, leaving the Tigers out of his takeaways. Here’s what Cubelic had to say about the 13 other teams:

ALABAMA:
Handled their business.
Milroe did some nice things. SERIOUS juice as a ball carrier. Missed a few checks. RBs need to improve in protection. Liked the TE group. Niblack could have big year. Liked the plan esp designed Q…— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) September 3, 2023
AUBURN: Handled their business. Offense just seemed to have a good feel for the plan overall considering all the new. OL much better. Got quality snaps for multiple bodies as well. OL/RB had good feel for run scheme. QBs played well. 1 missed a few throws, a read or two but…

TENNESSEE: Thought QB looked great. Couple balls he took a tad off but still gassing some he doesn’t need to. RB room loaded. Had a few good misses with ball placement. OL better than I thought with C out. The rotation there will help. Coleman was awesome at LT. Need to get 54 on…

VANDERBILT: Handled their business. Big day on the ground. Plan did a nice job of splitting the defense. Still have breakdowns with overloads. I love how 4 & 13 runs the ball. Added some ways to protect QB. Swann had a good day but still gets a tad risky at times. The weapons…
