After winning a national championship at LSU, Nick Saban famously took his talents to South Beach to coach the Miami Dolphins.

That didn’t go very well, as he ended up leaving the NFL ranks to take the Alabama job in 2007. The rest, as they say, is history. Saban now has 7 titles to his name, including 6 at Alabama.

But, would he entertain another go at the NFL? FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd said Saban deserves another cahnce in the pro ranks:

“You don’t think Saban could get the Houston Texans right?” Cowherd asks. “You don’t think Saban could go to Tampa if Bruce Arians isn’t the guy next year with Brady and that roster? He was not a disaster in the NFL. He was 9-7 in his first year in Miami. The team doctors wouldn’t allow him to get and sign Drew Brees and he went 6-10 (in Year 2) and said see ya. … Why won’t anyone call him? … You don’t think Nick Saban would mop up in the draft in the next 4 years?”

Cowherd also points out that Saban just brought in another No. 1 recruiting class to Alabama and mentions that he’s a healthy guy. We’ll see if rumors start surfacing about him heading to the NFL next offseason again.
