College football fans furious with ESPN after app crashes during CFP rankings show
College football fans are frustrated with ESPN after the World Wide Leader’s app crashed on Tuesday night, interrupting the College Football Playoff rankings selection show as well as a number of college basketball broadcasts.
This was supposed to be the beginning of a stretch run of the season for a lot of fans who couldn’t wait to see where their teams were in the first release of those CFP rankings. Instead of enjoyment though, many of them got frustration because of the ESPN app crash.
All of this comes right in the middle of another storm, as ESPN has been embroiled in a financial dispute with YouTube TV. ESPN channels are currently unavailable on YouTube TV — a service that millions of sports fans subscribe to.

First, it was that. Now, on Tuesday night, came another issue for already-furious fans to deal with, and predictably the reaction on social media was angry and as widespread as the app crash was on such an important night.
