College football fans and media shared their condolences to Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis after he went down with an injury on Saturday night.

Travis suffered what appeared to be a significant leg injury in the first quarter against North Alabama. He immediately motioned for help from medical personnel after being tackled awkwardly at the end of a 17 yard run.

Travis was treated for several minutes on the field before being carted out of the stadium.

Here’s video of the injury (warning: it is graphic):

If that injury is as severe as it appears to be, it will end Travis’ incredible college football career. He is in his final season of eligibility and has long been considered one of the most impactful quarterbacks in the country.

Travis became the all-time leader in touchdowns responsible for at Florida State earlier this season. He also was a key part of FSU re-establishing itself as a college football powerhouse in 2023. FSU is 10-0 this season went a perfect 8-0 in ACC play for the first time since 2014.

This injury has a chance to have significant implications on the College Football Playoff race this season. FSU is currently No. 4 in the rankings, but the selection committee will have the ability to consider Travis’ availability (or lack-there-of) when it makes its final determination who makes the top 4.

Here’s some of the reaction from the college football community to Travis’ injury:
