The College Football Playoff is underway, and we’re in for a tripleheader of games on Saturday!
The latest postseason got underway in epic fashion on Friday night with Alabama‘s comeback win at Oklahoma in the 8/9 game to send the Crimson Tide to the Rose Bowl. To round out the action for seeds 5-12 (Nos. 1-4 are on a first-round bye), Saturday’s slate features 3 games.
It all starts with No. 7 seed Texas A&M hosting No. 10 seed Miami, the College GameDay game this Saturday. For weeks, this game appeared unlikely. A&M was on track for a first-round bye until it stumbled in the regular-season finale against Texas. UM was the field’s last at-large team, as the committee made the controversial decision to flip Miami and Notre Dame in the final rankings after both teams were idle during championship weekend.
Like Texas A&M, No. 6 Ole Miss is also in the College Football Playoff for the first time. Unlike A&M, the Rebels have an interim head coach. With Lane Kiffin off to LSU, it’s Pete Golding in charge as Ole Miss faces Tulane a second time. Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall is off to the SEC, having taken the Florida job, but is coaching the Green Wave through the postseason.
Saturday’s tripleheader wraps up with Oregon hosting James Madison. The Ducks didn’t play for the Big Ten title because they had 1-loss when Indiana and Ohio State were both undefeated. The Dukes are in the CFP by finishing as one of the 5 highest-ranked conference champions after winning the Sun Belt.
Here’s the schedule for the day:
No. 7 Texas A&M vs. No. 10 Miami — 12:00 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN (Stream with Sling TV)
No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 11 Tulane — 3:30 p.m. ET on TNT/truTV (Stream with Sling TV)
No. 5 Oregon vs. No. 12 James Madison — 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT/truTV (Stream with Sling TV)
Yes, college football fans, that’s TNT and truTV listed for 2 of the 3 games. The broadcasts will look and sound familiar, as ESPN commentary teams will call the games that are being sublicensed to Turner Sports properties TNT and truTV.
Need a way to stream the games? Sling TV offers streaming of ESPN and TNT with exciting options for football fans, including day passes and weekend passes!
