College GameDay can smell what The Rock is cooking. Dwayne Johnson will be the guest picker as the crew heads to Boulder for Colorado State-Colorado.
The news was announced in an ESPN press release on Friday. The GameDay social media account broke the news with an edited clip of Johnson.
Johnson doesn’t have any direct connections to Colorado. However, his nickname “The Rock” is fairly similar to the town where the Buffaloes play, which is in Boulder.

Johnson has acted in many movies during his career. He also played for the Miami Hurricanes during the 90s.
Another thing that will be taking place during the show will be Lee Corso’s 400th headgear pick. The tradition started on Oct. 5, 1996, when he first picked the Brutus Buckeye headgear.
Also on the show, GameDay will have behind-the-scenes audio of Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel from a ‘Wired’ segment from a Volunteers team meeting on Friday night. Florida State head coach Mike Norvell will join the show live from the field during pregame warmups ahead of the Seminoles’ noon game against Boston College on ABC. Rapper Offset will swing by the desk to talk football and the “Deion effect.”
Colorado coach Deion Sanders will join the GameDay desk live on Saturday as the popular show is at one of his games for the second straight year.
Things could get feisty in Boulder as Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell fired shots at Deion Sanders for wearing sunglasses and a hat during interviews.
Kickoff from Boulder at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
