Deion Sanders continues to be a polarizing figure during his first season at Colorado for merely being Prime Time.

Coach Prime blasted some in the media for not believing in the Buffaloes after the Week 1 upset vs. TCU. Then after the victory vs. rival Nebraska last weekend, his son Shedeur Sanders came to his defense for alleged comments by Matt Rhule.

This time, it’s an in-state rival firing shots prior to the Week 3 clash. Colorado State heads to No. 18 Colorado with an 0-1 record and 5-game losing streak vs. the Buffaloes.

However, Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell appears more publicly concerned with the Pro Football Hall of Fame member’s wardrobe rather than earning his 4th victory during his 2nd season at the helm of the Rams.

“When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and glasses off,” Norvell said. “That’s what my mother taught me.”

Engaging in a war of words might not be the brightest idea for a brash Buffaloes squad which feeds off negativity.

Sanders is a 2-time Super Bowl champion, NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and member of the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. As a coach, Sanders captured back-to-back SWAC championships with Jackson State prior to joining Colorado.

The 60-year-old Norvell previously coached at Nevada, where he amassed a 33-26 record from 2017-21. As a defensive back/linebacker, Norvell lasted 2 seasons in the pros.

Colorado vs. Colorado State is slated for a 10 p.m. EST kickoff and will be televised on ESPN.
