College GameDay just spent Rivalry Week in Ann Arbor ahead of The Game between Ohio State and Michigan. That followed a show out in Eugene last week for Oregon-USC.

But for Conference Championship Weekend, the popular ESPN pregame show is going with a more predictable location.

Per an announcement on Saturday morning, College GameDay will be in Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 6, to preview the SEC Championship Game showdown between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs:

Alabama took care of business in the Iron Bowl on Saturday night to punch its ticket to Atlanta. Texas A&M was eliminated from SEC Championship Game contention on Friday night with a loss at Texas. If Alabama had lost to Auburn, Ole Miss would’ve made it to the title game to face Georgia.

Perhaps that delay caused an ensuing delay in the upcoming Lane Kiffin decision. Perhaps not. We may never know.

But what we do know is that Saturday’s SEC title clash between the Tide and the Dawgs should be another epic matchup between 2 of the best programs of the 2000s.

Next Saturday’s SEC Championship Game is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC.
