College GameDay is almost always entertaining, and it’s been that way for seemingly forever.

But in 2024, the show got a facelift. In particular, it got Nick Saban.

The college football coaching legend retired last January and decided to have a little fun on ESPN’s longtime Saturday pregame show this past fall. Well, Saban did exactly that this past fall, as the 73-year-old felt like a kid again and was finally free from the weekly pressures of winning and losing.

And as a bonus, in the biggest formality ever, Saban was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Friday, which earned him a round of applause from his GameDay co-hosts. One day later, GameDay did something else on Saban’s behalf. It released a 1-minute, 26-second video of Saban’s best highlights from his first season on the ESPN show, complete with all the playful moments you would expect.

Time will tell if this is just the start of Saban’s next career.

Whatever happens now with ESPN, it would be hard to top what Saban did as a coach, leading LSU to 1 national title followed by the 6 championships he captured at Alabama.
