Nick Saban will officially be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in the Class of 2025. The College GameDay crew surprised Saban with the exciting news just before Ohio State-Texas on Friday evening.
We all knew this was coming, it was just a matter of when. Saban, who retired following the 2023 season, is one of the greatest head coaches the game of football has ever seen – especially so at the collegiate level.
Where to even start? His 7 national championships seem appropriate. Saban, who also coached at Toledo, Michigan Sate and LSU, won 7 titles across his coaching tenure – 1 at LSU and 6 at Alabama. Saban is also an 11-time conference championship winner and a 5-time SEC Coach of the Year recipient.
Thanks to Saban, hundreds of players have heard their name called in the NFL Draft. Alabama produced NFL talent at an incredible rate during Saban’s tenure – his players include Julio Jones, Derrick Henry, Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts, Will Anderson and so, so many more.
Soon after coaching, Saban joined the crew at College GameDay and, of course, he’s done a great job as a member of the iconic pregame show. Here’s a look at the moment Saban learned he would be inducted as a member of the Class of 2025.
