College GameDay is going back to Ann Arbor.

The ESPN traveling pregame show announced Saturday from Bryan-College Station, Texas that it will be in Ann Arbor for Week 2. No. 9 Michigan is set to host No. 4 Texas in Week 2.

The highly anticipated Big Ten-SEC showdown features not only two top-10 teams, but two College Football Playoff teams from last season. Michigan went a perfect 15-0 to capture its first national title under Jim Harbaugh. Texas also reached the CFP, but fell to Washington in the semifinals for a spot in the championship game.

With Harbaugh now coaching the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers, Michigan is kicking off the Sherrone Moore era. Moore served as acting head coach for the final 3 regular-season games of the 2023 season as Harbaugh was suspended by the Big Ten amid the sign-stealing allegations.

While Moore has been Michigan’s head coach, including in big wins over Penn State and Ohio State, the 2024 season will be his first as the full-time Wolverine head coach. UM lost many of its stars from the national championship squad to the NFL Draft, but expectations are still high for the Wolverines. Michigan hosts Fresno State on Saturday to begin the season.

Texas is playing its first season as a member of the SEC. The Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship in their final year as a member of the conference, making the CFP as a 1-loss squad.

Steve Sarkisian’s squad returns star QB Quinn Ewers and begins the season in the top 5. The Horns host Colorado State to begin the 2024 campaign.
