Tennessee becomes the latest university to announce plans to welcome students back to campus in the fall

Good news Volunteer fans, Tennessee has joined the growing list of schools to announce their plans to reopen in the fall.

Of course, this announcement doesn’t lock the school into any action once the fall arrives but it is the latest sign that normalcy is returning to our world and that the upcoming college football season remains a possibility to be played once September arrives.

Simply put, if students don’t return to campus, college football is very unlikely to be played. However, based on the information schools across the country currently have, the reopening of campuses looks all the more likely as we still have months to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Tennessee President Randy Boyd issued the following statement on Wednesday regarding the school’s plan to reopen all campuses across the state.

“We are planning for a safe return to campuses in the fall and will do everything possible to protect the health of our students, faculty and staff. We will continually monitor the local and state health data and policies and be prepared to adjust and communicate our plans when needed.”

We’ll keep you posted with the latest information as it comes but with the majority of the schools in the SEC issuing similar statements in recent days, things are certainly trending in the right direction when it comes to playing SEC football this fall.
