You will never see Sam Pittman run from a challenge.

Make no mistake, Saturday’s showdown with LSU will be a real challenge for the Razorbacks as Pittman’s team is not only banged up and facing a rested Tiger team but Arkansas has also been hit with some COVID positives that put the fate of this game up in the air.

“We have a test that we took (Thursday) that gets back (Friday), and I’m just going to tell you the truth, we are running thin,” Pittman said on Thursday. “We want to play the game but you have to have adequate numbers to play the game. We are thin. So, if we have a good test (on Friday), we are going to play the game.”

The Razorbacks were awaiting the final results of this week’s COVID testing before knowing if the team would be able to host LSU on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT but on Friday morning, Pittman issued the following statement to Razorback Nation:

If that wasn’t enough, several media members are now reporting that the game is on after Arkansas received good news following the latest round of testing in Fayetteville — that news was first reported by Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated.

LSU enters this game on a four-game winning streak in this annual series with the previous Razorback win coming in 2015. LSU holds an all-time edge of 41-22-2 in the series.
