Former Alabama offensive lineman Korren Kirven has a new NFL home.

The Dallas Cowboys announced they have signed Kirven, who worked out for the team Thursday. In order to sign Kirven, the team released former Texas A&M back Trey Williams and defensive end James Hearns.

After going undrafted out of Alabama, Kirven signed a free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in May 2017. He was waived and signed to the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad. Kirven has also spent time with the Jets and Panthers during his career.

The Lynchburg, Virginia, native played in 26 career games for Alabama. He eventually moved into a starting role at right guard during his senior season of 2016. He started his career as a defensive lineman.

Exiting high school, Kirven was rated a 4-star prospect and was ranked as the nation’s No. 16 overall defensive tackle and the state of Virginia’s No. 5 overall player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
