Former Alabama OL Korren Kirven is in search of a new NFL home.
The Dallas Cowboys announced they had waived Kirven Tuesday, as he reportedly suffered a calf injury in Sunday night’s preseason game against the Cardinals.
Kirven went undrafted following his Alabama career, and he was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a free agent deal. He was later waived and signed to the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad. Kirven has also spent time with the Jets and Panthers during his career.
The Lynchburg, Virginia, native played in 26 career games for Alabama. He eventually moved into a starting role at right guard during his senior season of 2016. He started his career as a defensive lineman.
Exiting high school, Kirven was rated a 4-star prospect and was ranked as the nation’s No. 16 overall defensive tackle and the state of Virginia’s No. 5 overall player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
It’ll be interesting to see if another team gives him an opportunity.
