Thanks to an injury to backup QB Kellen Moore, Dak Prescott is now Dallas’ No. 2 signal caller.
Moore went down with a broken ankle Tuesday, and Prescott was thrust into the role behind only Tony Romo.
“I’ve just got to come in each and every day and get better – that’s all I’m worried about,” Prescott said after practice via DallasCowboys.com. “My main focus is just to come in and make sure these guys hold me accountable. I’ll hold them accountable, and I’ll just be my best each and every practice.”
Since Moore’s injury, there’s been talk that Dallas will go out and get a backup QB to replace Moore’s spot on the roster, pushing Prescott back down to at least the No. 3 slot, but for right now, he stands to be the biggest recipient from Moore’s injury.
“Eventually I want to be the starter,” he said. “That’s my mindset – to come in each and every day and get myself right to the level as close as I can to Romo and learn from him. That’s my mindset.”
