Dak Prescott hasn’t played since leaving the Dallas Cowboys’ Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, forced to exit the contest after a right thumb injury.

With a massive “Sunday Night Football” matchup against NFC East foe Philadelphia looming in Week 6, Cowboys fans would love their franchise quarterback back in time to face Jalen Hurts and the 5-0 Eagles.

Not so fast. According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it will be Cooper Rush behind center for Dallas as it travels to Philly. Rush has won all 4 games he has started in Prescott’s absence.

However, there is some good news for Prescott.

“Dak was throwing [on Wednesday] on the side during practice and after practice,” said Rapoport. “[He] was asked, ‘How did it feel? How did it look?’ He said it felt great. As far as the velocity, just ask the receivers. Everyone is impressed and happy with where it is. He just isn’t ready quite yet.”

We’ll see if Prescott is back on the field for Week 7 against the Detroit Lions on Oct. 23, but for now, it remains Cooper Rush’s team for at least one more outing.
