Former Florida QB Austin Appleby is looking for a new NFL home.

The Dallas Cowboys cut Appleby on Monday when they picked up QB Zac Dysert, a former seventh-round pick in 2013 who has bounced around various practice squads over the years.

Appleby transfered to Florida for the 2016 season after graduating from Purdue with a season of eligibility remaining. In spring practice and fall camp he competed for the starting job, which ultimately went to Luke Del Rio. Appleby ended up starting the majority of Florida’s games last season, however, due to Del Rio’s knee injury in Week 3 and shoulder injury in Week 10, including the final five. Appearing in nine games, Appleby was 127-of-209 (60.8 completion percentage) for 1,447 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

While not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, Appleby did throw at Florida’s Pro Day. After the NFL Draft, Appleby signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent.
