Dan Mullen will be back with ESPN as an analyst and broadcaster for the 2024 college football season.
The former SEC head coach has started sharing his preseason predictions ahead of Saturday’s season kickoff. On Tuesday, he turned his focus to the ACC.
Mullen is not going too bold in 2024. He likes Clemson to finish No. 1 in the league in the regular season, but has Florida State topping the Tigers in the conference championship game.
In his ACC prediction tweet, Mullen included an incomplete predicted order of finish. The ACC is up to 17 members with the additions of Cal, Stanford and SMU. Cal is absent from Mullen’s predicted order of finish. For those wondering, Cal has a 6-win regular-season over/under at DraftKings Sportsbook, with over priced at -105 and under -115.

Florida State is the ACC’s defending champion, going undefeated in regular-season play and defeating Louisville in the conference title game.

FSU will be a new-look squad in 2024. The Seminoles had 10 players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, the most since the height of the Jimbo Fisher era. When ESPN’s Bill Connelly took a look at returning production back in February, FSU ranked No. 83 among FBS teams with 58% returning production. The Florida State defense ranked No. 62 nationally with 60% of its returning production.
Will Mike Norvell’s portal prowess make the Noles a contender again in 2024? At DraftKings Sportsbook, FSU’s over/under win total for the 2024 regular season is set at 9.5, with over and under each priced at -110 ($110 wager needed to win $100 for a $210 payout). Clemson’s over/under, meanwhile, is set at 9 regular-season wins. The over is priced at -115, while under is -105.
Mullen’s championship pick is in line with DraftKings’ odds. The Seminoles are priced at +290 to win the ACC Championship Game, ahead of Clemson at +350. At current odds, a winning $100 wager on the Noles would produce a $390 payout.
