Arch Manning is still experiencing some growing pains as the Texas Longhorns‘ starting quarterback. He did not look great in the first game against Ohio State, but he looked much better in their second game against San Jose State.

However, through one half on Saturday, Manning is back to looking inconsistent against UTEP. One of the bigger names in college football media, Danny Kanell, took notice of his play:

Texas fans have become accustomed to watching elite offenses under Steve Sarkisian. Given the expectations and talent on this roster, watching Manning and the rest of this roster struggle against a team like UTEP is much different than watching them struggle against Ohio State.

It is worth noting that not only have media members like Kanell taken notice of Manning’s foul play, but in the first half, the rest of the fans in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium were fed up and started booing the team off the field near the end of the first half:

At halftime, Texas was up 14-3, but based on the talent discrepancy and the missed opportunities, the Longhorns should easily be up by more, and that frustration is boiling over.
