Danny Kanell is back with his weekly rankings.

Kanell names a top 12 every Sunday after the dust settles on the week’s games. In Sunday’s social media post revealing his post-Week 5 rankings, Kanell asks which teams have the best resumes entering Week 6.

For Kanell, it’s Texas, Alabama and Tennessee at the top. Kanell apparently considers the win at Michigan by Texas to be slightly more impressive than Alabama’s home win over Georgia, but it’s notable that Michigan isn’t in Kanell’s top 12, while Georgia is No. 8. Another factor may be that Texas is 5-0 without a bye, while Alabama is 4-0 after a recent bye.

Tennessee had a bye in Week 5, but the Volunteers have established that they’re right in the mix at the top with a 4-0 record that includes wins over NC State and Oklahoma.

Kanell gives the 4-7 spots to non-SEC teams: Miami, Oregon, Penn State and Ohio State. All 4 are undefeated. Penn State has the most impressive resume win in that group, defeating a ranked Illinois team 21-7 in Week 5.

Georgia slots in at No. 8 for Kanell, ahead of a Clemson team that the Bulldogs dominated in Week 1. Indiana, BYU and Mizzou take the last 3 spots. The 10-12 squads are all undefeated,
