David Bucey has found a home in the SEC. The Savannah (Georgia) Christian Prep standout is headed just up the road to Columbia.

Bucey took to social media on Monday to announce his commitment to South Carolina.

Bucey is listed at 6-1, 200 pounds. He is rated a 3-star linebacker and the No. 126 player in Georgia by 247Sports. Shane Beamer’s staff, however, appears to see Bucey playing elsewhere. South Carolina defensive backs coach Torrian Gray led the Gamecocks’ recruitment of Bucey.

Ahead of his commitment, Bucey picked up scholarship offers from 16 schools, including App State, Iowa State, Tulane and West Virginia. Now that Bucey is on board, the Gamecocks have 13 commitments in their 2024 recruiting class.
