Former NFL quarterback David Carr spent 11 seasons in the league, so he knows a thing or two about the type of talent it takes to compete at that level continuously. On Wednesday, Carr joined NFL Total Access to give his perspective on who he is keeping his eye on heading into the NFL Combine, which is set for March 2 on NFL Network.

Depending on how closely you’ve followed draft projections, the answer may or may not surprise you. Carr said he has his eye especially on former Kentucky QB Will Levis, explaining he’d like to see more from the Kentucky signal caller in terms of accuracy and potential leadership skills at the combine.

Check his thoughts out below:

Levis’ athleticism and arm have never been in question. For that reason, NFL GMs are hoping he could be the next Josh Allen, with a larger frame that is able to scramble and an rocket launcher for an arm.

Decision making is where Levis has plenty of room to grow. He threw 23 interceptions across his 2 years in Lexington, throwing for 46 touchdowns in that same span. Those numbers alone are why Bryce Young and CJ Stroud seem to be “safer” options.

We’ll see where Levis ends up soon enough. The NFL Draft is set for April 27 through April 29.
