The Week 5 face-off between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide ended the same way that just about every other game these 2 SEC powers have played over the past 15 years, and that was with an Alabama victory.
Georgia had its opportunities to win, but ultimately came up just short when it mattered most, allowing the Tide to escape Athens with yet another win against the Dawgs.
In the days following the matchup, many Georgia fans have naturally voiced their displeasure with the team’s performance, and for good reason.
Things certainly could have gone better from just about every aspect for the Dawgs, but former Georgia legend and current analyst David Pollack is urging fans to relax a little bit.
“If you’re watching Georgia and you’re a Georgia fan and you’re frustrated, I get it,” Pollack said on a recent episode of the See Ball, Get Ball podcast. “I understand, but you also won back-to-back national championships, which has to be really fun. You also won the SEC Championship last season, and you weren’t excited, which I get. Success puts you in a different category, I get that, but with this roster, it’s a new-look Georgia team.”
It’s very clear to anyone with eyes that this is a Georgia team that is still trying to find its identity, and that is what Pollack is pointing out.
The only question is, will they be able to find it before or after it’s too late to realize the championship aspirations they entered the season with?
