DBU lands another one: Army All-American Kelvin Joseph commits to LSU over Alabama
LSU has no plans to let go of the moniker DBU and thanks to prospects like Kelvin Joseph, it likely won’t have to in the near future.
The Tigers landed a commitment from one of the nation’s top safety prospects when Joseph declared his commitment to LSU live during the 2018 edition of the U.S. Army All-American Game. Rated as the nation’s No. 4 safety and the No. 37 overall prospect in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings, the Tigers managed to keep arguably the state’s top prospect from leaving Louisiana.
During his commitment ceremony, he said he wanted to go to DBU while reaching for an Alabama hat. He said, “Nah!” moving past the Alabama hat before picking up the LSU hat.

Joseph had been considering scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn and Florida among several others.
Following Joseph’s commitment, the Tigers jump one spot in the 2018 team recruiting rankings up to No. 12 moving past Washington. With Joseph’s pledge, the Tigers now have 10 four-stars either signed or committed to the class.
