Deion Sanders and Eddie Robinson Jr. had a post-game dustup following Alabama State’s loss to Jackson State, and after a brief handshake, Robinson gave Sanders a stiff arm, and turned to walk off the field.

After the game, Robinson explained his perspective.

“I thought it’s a lot of disrespect the whole week,” he said. “So you’re not going to be disrespectful the whole week in the media. We didn’t talk in the pregame, I was out there the whole time at the 50-yard line.”

Robinson then explained that Sanders walked through the Alabama State huddle in the end zone and came the long way around to get to Sanders’ side.

“I thought that wasn’t classy at all,” Robinson said. “So in the post-game, I’m not about to give you the Obama bro hug. I’m going to shake your hand and go home. I’m going to always be respectful and respect the game.”

Robinson said he’s living on the shoulders of the SWAC.

“He ain’t SWAC, I’m SWAC,” Robinson said. “He’s in the conference doing a great job, can’t knock that, got a great team.”

Robinson said he hoped Sanders wouldn’t get a Power 5 job, and the rematch next year in Jackson would be on Jackson State’s homecoming.
