Deja vu? No. 1 Virginia losing to No. 16 Gardner-Webb at halftime

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: No. 1 Virginia is struggling against a No. 16 seed.
That’s because last year the Cavaliers became the first No. 1 seed in the NCAA history to lose to a No. 16 seed in UMBC 74-54. And this year, not much has changed … so far.
No. 1 UVA is losing to No. 16 Gardner-Webb at halftime 36-30. Of course, there’s a bunch of game left. However, at one point, the Bulldogs gave the Cavaliers their biggest deficit of the season at 14 points. That’s incredible.
Virginia did close the deficit just before halftime and the offense looks to be catching fire, but still, this is way too close for comfort.
Gardner-Webb, by the way, is located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, and it competes in the Big South Conference.
Here is some reaction heading into halftime:

UVA has to leave for the CAA if this happens, right?

If UVA loses again they’re going to have to be banned from the NCAA Tournament for awhile. Banished to NIT for half a decade.
