Derek Williams, 5-star 2023 safety out of Louisiana, has 3 SEC teams in his top 8

Derek Williams is a 5-star safety in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 37 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings for the upcoming cycle.
Like many top recruits in the 2023 class, Williams — a native of New Iberia, Louisiana — has narrowed down his list of top schools.
As you can see below, he announced on Twitter on Wednesday that 3 SEC schools — Alabama, Texas A&M and LSU — are among his top 8:

Those 3 SEC squads will compete with Clemson and Miami out of the ACC, Texas and Oklahoma out of the Big 12, and Michigan from the Big Ten for Williams’ services in 2023 and beyond.
Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Williams is the No. 3 safety in the class of 2023 and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Louisiana.
