Details of former Georgia assistant Shane Beamer’s Oklahoma contract revealed
After reviewing his new salary, no wonder Shane Beamer jumped at the chance to join the Oklahoma program.
Georgia’s former special teams coordinator and tight ends coach left Athens this week to work as Lincoln Riley’s assistant head coach of offense as well as coach the team’s tight ends and H-backs. The move was a surprise, as Beamer was a popular coach on and off the field for the Bulldogs but considering the pay raise involved, the move makes sense.
Beamer will make $435,000 a year for two seasons. He was making $300,000 working for Kirby Smart.

Losing a good coach always stings but that’s what happens when programs of Georgia’s caliber have success, promotions are bound to follow.
While many coaches bolt immediately without saying a word, Beamer took a much better approach. Give credit to Beamer for going out on a classy note, he sent out the following message to Dawg Nation soon after the news was made official.
